    Game Modifications

    -Patches/Updates:
Due to the conditions outside of the control of TWL, there are many players who are forced to update their game and/or server. TWL recognizes this issue, and because of it, has modified the rules governing Patching/Updating.

Any official updates will be instantly approved for any sanctioned matches. Updates to any mod MUST be released by TWL in order to be official for matches.

    • Official updates are defined as:
    • Game Updates released by Infinity Ward
    • Punkbuster Updates released by Evenbalance
    • Config files released by TWL
    • Mod Files released by TWL.
In the event that player(s) are updated and server(s) are not, TWL will recognize an update period of no more than 3 days after release. This means, from the time an update is released, all players and servers must have the update installed. During this time, rescheduling matches based on player(s) or server(s) not having current updates is acceptible and encouraged.

    -Server Side:
ALL server's that are to be used for a TWL sanctioned match must be setup in the following manner:
    • Current CoD Version (currently v1.50)
    • Current PAM Mod (currently v4.01)
    • Current TWL PAM Ruleset (currently v1.21)
    • Any additional server mods that have been authorizezd by TWL
    • Streaming to Punksbusted
Any server that does not meet these requirements is not to be used for any TWL sanctioned matches. These requirements are not debatible.

    -Server Setup/Files:
PBSV.zip is available in the TWL Download section. This is a mandatory Punkbuster configuration file for all Call of Duty 4 Ladders.

PsB Streaming is now mandatory for all servers used for ladder play. For setup instructions, view the PsB Streaming Guide

PAM4 is available in the TWL Download section. All teams must download this file as PAM4 is now Officially the mod for all Call of Duty 4 Ladders.
    • pam4.zip contains the most current release of the PAM4 Mod, which is required to be loaded for all TWL CoD4 Ladder Matches. This file can be found in the TWL Download section.

    • TWLPam.zip contains the most current relese of the TWL League/Ladder Rulesets for the PAM4 Mod. This file is required to be on your server, and is available for download from the TWL Download section.

    -Using PAM4:
Please see -Supported GameTypes and expand the link to your team's Ladder to get the correct PAM4 Mode settings.

Teams NEED 4 things to be match ready with PAM4:
    • Have PAM4 installed as the ONLY mod.
    • Have The TWLPam RuleSet file loaded onto your server.
    • Have PAM4 enabled.
    • Know which pam_mode to put the server in.

For any additional assistance on setting up and using PAM4, please read the PAM4 FAQ, located in the CoD4 Ladder Forum.

    -PAM4 Modifications:

Any changes that need to be made to PAM4 will be done so by Teamwarfare staff and will be posted in the downloads section for all players.

Any teams that modify PAM4 whatsoever (including renaming the PAM4 folder to anything outside of pam[version]) will be subject to disciplinary actions. We take these offenses very seriously.
      First Offense
    • Forfeiture of the existing game.
    • Founder suspended from TWL for 60 days.
    • Team, Loss of rungs 20%. In cases of ladders having few teams they will be dropped to the bottom.
      Second Offense
    • 1 year site ban
    • Team disbanded

    - PAM4 Server Error Messages

PAM has detected an error and is holding debug info.
Please do not stop this server until a League Admin
can come to your server and collect the debug info: #

Teams joining their opponents server and seeing the above message should do the following:
    • Immediately take a screenshot of the error message
    • Immediately contact an admin via IRC
    • Give the admin the server ip and password
    • Do NOT begin the match
    • Wait for the admin to connect and follow their instructions completely
    • Prepare your own server to host the match, or begin trying to find a suitable, legal, neutral server should either be needed

If your team has the server giving the above error message, you are required to do the following:
    • Immediately take a screenshot of the message (F12)
    • Immediately contact an admin via IRC
    • Do NOT begin the match
    • Give the TWL admin the RCON password in private IRC PM. This will be held in the strictist of confidence and you can confirm that you are in fact dealing with an official CoD 4 TWL admin by refering to the player name and PBGUID listed below
    • Follow his directions completely and fully

    -Client-Side:
The ONLY client-side file that is required for TWL Match play is mod.ff. This file is available for download from the TWL Download Page.

No Client-Side modifications are permitted. This includes customs skins, scopes, avatars, huds or any other modifications, including 3rd party programs that interact directly with the stock CoD4 files or OpenGL/Direct3D. The game is to be played stock out of the box with current patches.

The following penalty will be enforced for all players that are caught with any client-side modifications.
    • Consequence - 30-day suspension of player involved.
Players caught with client-side modifications known by the CoD community as cheats, see Hacking/Cheating

    Contacting an Admin

    -IRC Channel Info:

This channel is open to all of the Call of Duty TeamWarfare Public Community. TWL CoD4 Admins are logged in 24hrs a day 7days a week to help resolve any issues that you may have while competing on the TWL CoD4 Ladders.. The majority of all disputes that are submitted could of been resolved if a member of the team had logged in to the IRC and requested an Admin to join the server. We encourage the community to take advantage of this by logging in and typing !admin in the lobby. This is what we are here for, to help, to help you.

    -TWL CoD4 Admin Contacts:
A complete listing of Teamwarfare's Call of Duty Admin Staff can be found by clicking [HERE].

    -TeamWarfare Observer Corps
The TeamWarfare CoD4 Administration takes great pride in the ability to offer Observers for competition. The TWL Observers are a key element for matches and minimize the possibility of the match ending up in a dispute. Please be kind and courteous to the TWL-OC assinged to the match. The Role of an TWL-OC is to:
    • Record a Demo while observing players.
    • Spectate all members on both teams.
    • Verify TWL Rule file being used if Pam enabled.
    • Screen Shot final scores on each side.
TWL-OC's are not Admins, they cannot make any decisions before, during, or after a match. Keep in mind their role as an OC is to observe the matches, and make sure the match falls within the ladders or league rules. If a problem occurs the TWL-OC currently assigned to the match will get an Admin to join the server and resolve the issue.

If you would like to request a TWL-OC to observe your match please complete the request form located [HERE].

Please send all comments and/or complaints to codocteam@teamwarfare.com
